The Days Creek girls and boys basketball teams both won Friday night in the Days Creek Tournament.

The girls defeated Willamette Valley Christian 48-30 in their season opener Friday. Senior Moriah Michaels had a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds for the Wolves (1-0). Fellow senior Joleen Crume had 10 points and nine rebounds while junior Shandiin Newton also had 10 points. The Days Creek girls team was ranked eighth in the OSAAtoday 1A preseason coaches poll. They play Crow at 2 p.m. today. Meanwhile the boys team defeated Willamette Valley Christian 45-27 Friday night in their opener. Zane DeGrott and Macs Whetzel led the Wolves (1-0) with 12 points apiece. Degrott also added eight rebounds. The Wolves who were ranked sixth in the OSAAtoday 1A preseason coaches poll will play Crow at 3:30 p.m. today at home.
