High School Students Invited to Participate in Congressional Art Competition
12:51 AM · Apr 2, 2024U.S. House Representatives are sponsoring the annual Congressional Art Competition, open to all high school students in their respective districts. The winning artwork from each participating district will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year, as part of a nation-wide exhibit. To enter, students must submit their original artwork by April 12, 2024. The artwork must not exceed 28 inches by 28 inches, be no more than 4 inches in depth, and weigh no more than 15 pounds. If selected, the winning piece must arrive framed and within these dimensions. Acceptable mediums: Paintings (oil, acrylics, watercolor) Drawings (pastels, colored pencil, pencil, charcoal, ink, markers) Collages (must be two-dimensional) Prints (lithographs, silkscreen, block prints) Mixed Media (using more than two mediums) Computer-generated art Photography All entries must be original in concept, design, and execution, and must not violate any U.S. copyright laws. Work entered must be in the original medium (not a scanned reproduction).
