Roseburg School Bond: Investing in Safe, Healthy, and Future-Ready Schools

3:41 AM · May 5, 2023

If the proposed Roseburg school bond passes, it will enhance learning opportunities at Roseburg High School and improve school facilities across the district. The bond will support the construction of a modern facility at Roseburg High School, creating more effective spaces for academics and training in job skill programs and vocational trades, while preserving historical architectural elements. In addition to these improvements, the bond will fund comprehensive security measures, including controlled access systems, protective window films, and completed camera systems and perimeter fencing for all schools. It will also address health and safety concerns by upgrading HVAC systems, roofing, plumbing, electrical systems, fire alarms, and removing asbestos from flooring and piping. These combined efforts aim to create a more conducive learning environment, prioritizing student safety, health, and education opportunities throughout the district. The district estimates that the proposed $75.51 million bond, if passed, would cost homeowners $0.99 per $1,000 of assessed property value. For example, owners of a home with an assessed value of $250,000 could expect to pay approximately $247.50 per year or about $20.60 per month. If the measure does not pass, the proposed projects would not be completed and property taxes would not increase. If the proposed May 2023 bond measure is passed, the following projects would be completed at each school: Via Roseburg School District
