Crater Lake Now Has 6 1/2 Feet of Snow

After getting another 27 inches of snow in the past 24 hours, Crater Lake now has a snow base of 76 inches of snow! That is two feet more than average for this day of the year. Current forecasts show the Crater Lake area could receive another 6 inches or so in the next day or so. Update on the road to rim village inside the national park: Tuesday, Dec. 28, 9:00 am - The road from Park Headquarters to Rim Village has been closed since Friday due to deep snow. We do not know when it will reopen. Hopefully later this week. We will update this alert when more information becomes available.
