Roseburg Public Schools To Begin Distributing Meals to Students Aug 31st
4:39 PM · Aug 25, 2020(Douglas ESD) Aug. 24, 2020 – Roseburg Public Schools will begin distributing free meals to district students on Aug. 31. A student ID card will be required for students or a parent/caregiver to collect meals. Meals will be distributed at specified school locations and via district-wide school bus routes Monday through Friday. At this time, the Oregon Department of Education has given the district approval to serve meals to students attending schools within the district. Children enrolled in the Roseburg School District and their parents or guardians may pick up meals by showing their ID cards. Only current IDs from this school year will be accepted. ID cards will be mailed to families this week. One meal bag will be provided per ID card. If a student’s ID card has not been received in the mail, or if an ID card is lost, parents can visit one of the open school cafeterias during the scheduled meal service to receive a new card. Grab-and-go bagged breakfast will be served from 7:30 to 8 a.m., followed by lunch from 11:30 a.m. to noon at the following elementary schools: Hucrest, Fir Grove, Fullerton, Eastwood, Winchester, Sunnyslope and Green. A combination of grab-and-go bagged breakfast and lunch will be delivered to more than 560 bus stop locations, including Roseburg High School, Fremont Middle School and Melrose Elementary. Families may visit the district website for the bus route schedules at https://bit.ly/3htyCab. For questions about the program, please call 541-440-4023.
