Bandon Dunes Golf Resort Hosting 120th US Amateur Championship August 10-16
1:45 PM · Aug 9, 2020There will be 19 former USGA Champions in the 264 player field for the 120th U.S. Amateur Championship hosted by Bandon Dunes Golf Resort this week. The tournament is slated to kick of Monday August 10 and conclude on Sunday August 16. Andy Ogletree, will look to repeat after winning the 2019 U.S. Amateur Championship at Pinehurst Resort & Country Club. Ogletree, 22, a two-time All-American at Georgia Tech is looking to become the first player to win back-to-back Amateurs since Tiger Woods won three straight from 1994-96. The field will play 18 holes of stroke play on Aug. 10 and 11, with one round each on Bandon Dunes and Bandon Trails. After that point the field will be cut to the lowest 64 scorers. Then six rounds of match play begin on Aug. 12 and the championship concludes with a 36-hole final on Aug. 16. The champion and runner-up will be exempt into the 2021 U.S. Open at Torrey Pines Golf Course, in San Diego, Calif. Fans will be not be allowed to attend. NBC Universal will broadcast matches starting on Wednesday on their streaming service Peacock and the Golf Channel.
