F-15's Flew Over Roseburg Today to Honor Major Kitzman

9:55 PM Β· Jul 10, 2020

Early this afternoon four F-15 aircraft flew over the Roseburg National Cemetery and performed a missing man formation in honor of U.S. Air Force Maj. Donald Harold Kitzman, who passed away at the age of 97. "After joining the Army Air Corps in 1942 and training to fly B-17s he was shot down over enemy territory and taken prisoner for more than six months. He was rescued in 1945 by U.S. Forces and remained in the Army Air Corps and the U.S. Air Force until retirement in 1965 where he flew B-29s in the Korean War and B-52s during the Cold War." As the four aircraft approached the cemetery grounds, they were in a missing man formation, and one of them pealed off and flew straight up into the sky, almost out of sight. It was in honor of the missing aviator. πŸ’™ πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ
