Fatal Helicopter Crash This Afternoon Near Roseburg

(DCSO) ROSEBURG, Ore. - Deputies are investigating a fatal aircraft accident which occurred on Thursday afternoon. Around 2:13 pm, 9-1-1 dispatchers received reports of a small aircraft which crashed near the 2300-block of Glengary Loop Road. Deputies along with the Winston Police Department, Douglas County Fire District #2 responded and located a downed burning helicopter on private property. It was determined that at least one individual died in the crash. The Douglas County Medical Examiner's Office and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) have been notified and are working with the Sheriff's Office.
