Saturday Morning Tyee Ridge Complex Fire Update
2:59 PM · Aug 26, 2023From satellite imagery this morning, it appears the Cougar Creek Fire/Rattlesnake Ridge Fire combined overnight. The fire appears to have grown in several directions. Once a mapping flight takes place, I expect the fire to be significantly bigger than 1k acres. An Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF) Incident Management Team has been requested and will be taking over command starting tomorrow, August 26, 2023, at 6 p.m. Air quality in the area is pretty poor this morning, with Roseburg coming in at 160 at 8 am. It appears the level 3 mandatory evacuation area was expanded slightly overnight as well to include more areas to the north of the fire along the river.
