Roseburg Fire Department Lt. Andy Thingvall Retires After 25 Years of Service
After 25 years of dedicated service to the citizens of Roseburg, Lieutenant Andy Thingvall is working his final 24-hour shift today. Congratulations Andy, and thank you for your service! Lt. Thingvall began his career with the City of Roseburg Fire Department on November 1, 1999, rising through the ranks as a Firefighter, Driver/Engineer, and Lieutenant. Along the way, he earned numerous certifications, including NFPA Firefighter II, Instructor II, Driver, and more. He is also an EMT-Intermediate and Wildland Engine Boss. Throughout his career, Lt. Thingvall brought his expertise in wildland firefighting to major incidents in Oregon and California, including deployments to Ventura and Mendocino Counties in California, Milepost 97 in Douglas County, and Wasco County. Most personally, he assisted during the devastating Archie Creek Fire in his hometown of Glide. Beyond emergency response, Lt. Thingvall has been a constant presence in the community—serving food at local schools, training new recruits, participating in Seattle’s stair climb fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and taking part in local parades. He has also led the department’s hydrant flushing and inspection program for many years. As he begins his next chapter, we offer our deepest gratitude for his service to Roseburg, the Fire Department, and the greater Oregon fire service. We also thank his family and friends for their unwavering support. Please join us in congratulating Lt. Andy Thingvall on his well-earned retirement. — Release by Roseburg Fire Department. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 📨 Grow your business with Roseburg Tracker.
