Douglas County 'Make a Difference' Day Returns Oct 28
5:41 PM · Oct 26, 2023Community members are encouraged to sign up now to pitch in on the second annual Make a Difference Day - Douglas County event coming up Oct. 28. Make a Difference Day is a nationwide annual day of service, organized locally by a group of community service leaders to promote volunteerism. Volunteers are still needed for about a dozen projects around the area. Many of the projects involve landscaping and beautification work at local schools and nonprofits. A full list of projects and directions on how to sign up can be found at https://makeadifferenceday.org. Volunteers may choose a project to work on during a four-hour shift from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Oct. 28. The event’s primary sponsors include United Community Action Network, Thrive Umpqua, Greater Douglas United Way, Roseburg Public Schools, Sunrise Enterprises, and JustServe. Make a Difference Day – Douglas County’s mission is to build support and opportunity for volunteers throughout Douglas County, strengthening our community and making Douglas County a healthier and safer place to live, work, and play.
