F-15 Eagle Fighter Jets Set to Flyover Roseburg in Memorial Day Tribute
This Memorial Day, on Monday, May 29, 2023, the Oregon Air National Guard will put on a special show. The team from Kingsley Field will fly their F-15 Eagle fighter jets over different locations in Oregon. For us in Roseburg, the jets will zoom over the Roseburg National Cemetery at about 11:40 a.m. They will be about 1,000 feet high and will fly at a speed of around 400 mph. This is a chance for everyone in Roseburg to look up to the sky and think about the brave people who have served our country. The jets come from the 173rd Fighter Wing, which is based at Kingsley Field in Klamath Falls, Oregon. This is the only place in the country where pilots are trained to fly these F-15C jets. Please remember that these times might change if the weather is bad or if there are other issues. It's a good idea to be ready a few minutes before the planned time. After Roseburg, the jets will go on to other communities. Here are the times for the rest of the flyovers: - 12:00 p.m. Memory Gardens Memorial Park, Medford, Ore. - 12:00 p.m. Hillcrest Memorial Park, Medford, Ore. - 12:15 p.m. Riverside Park, Grants Pass, Ore. On Memorial Day, when you hear the roar of the jets overhead, take a moment to think about what they represent. It's a chance for us all to remember the brave people who served our country.
