Progress Being Made Toward Reopening Fall Creek Falls

7:08 PM · Mar 4, 2022

Here is the latest update from US Forest Service - Umpqua National Forest on the work being done to reopen Fall Creek Falls. "Fall Creek Falls Trail has been closed since late 2020 due to severe damage from the Archie Creek Fire. Thanks to the hard work of our Forest Service employees and our partners at Northwest Youth Corps, we have made substantial progress toward reopening this site. Northwest Youth Corps spent three weeks this winter helping us to clean up and reconstruct Fall Creek Falls Trail. By working with this important partner, the Forest Service can provide teens and young adults with valuable job-training experiences that help them develop leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. By working with our partners, we can together accomplish far more work than we could alone. Thank you, Northwest Youth Corps! We still have substantial work ahead of us, including installing safety barriers on the waterfall overlook and widening the parking lot. We will complete this work and reopen the trail as soon as possible."
