New Brix Owners Settle In
3:12 AM · Feb 12, 2022Brix transitioned to new owners last week and it’s going well for Zahir “Abraham” and Tanya Abraham. The couple plans to keep the business the way it is. “I just want to leave it the way it is,” Abraham said. “I’m happy, my customers are happy. Just the owners changed. It’s a good team.” Abraham, who goes by his last name, has been in the restaurant business for 30 years. He thought he would never leave his business in San Diego, but when his family came up to Roseburg for a vacation, they fell in love with it. He told his wife, who works in real estate, if she could find a business they could buy, they would move. Now he’s working alongside his staff, sweeping, mopping, washing dishes, and getting to know the happy crew. “As long as my family is happy, I’m happy,” Abraham said. “That’s why I work hard. It’s a small town, but it’s good for my family and good for raising kids.” He said he wishes former owners Mark and Misty Russell the best. He’s happy for their new adventure. “We are excited to pass along a thriving, successful business to new owners with restaurant experience that intend to keep jobs and a quality experience,” Misty said. “We are sad to step away from our current coworkers and guests, whom we have grown to love. We are grateful to have had the opportunity to be a bigger part of a special, supportive and generous community and to create countless beautiful memories.” Brix has been around since at least 2005 and has grow to be the business it is today, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a relaxed but fashionable atmosphere. The Russells have transitioned to The Moment Event Trailer Rentals which will rent out mobile bars, mobile kitchens, venue spaces and more.
