Roseburg Kids Set Up Drink Stand To Benefit Hospital Employees
7:25 PM · Aug 28, 2021Three kids setup a "lemonade" stand on Thursday where they sold prepackaged juices to raise money to help the employees at Mercy Medical Center. In one afternoon, the cousins -- Luke, 6; Ainsley, 8; and Quinn, 8 -- raised $273 for a "treat" for the hospital employees. "They know that our community has been pretty affected and they wanted to do something for the employees at the hospital," Ainsley's mother Megan Jo Driver said. "It was very much run by them. They set up the stand on their own and cleaned up and wrote a little script. It was really uplifting and encouraging." The kids plan on opening the stand again on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the north end of Keasey Street with their bright signs. They ask people to give what they can and 100% of the money will go to getting a treat for the staff at Mercy. Driver said they haven't quite figured out what they are going to do for the staff, but she is having conversations with the kids and a nurse friend about what would be the best way to say thank you. For those who cannot make it in person, but would like to give to the kid's donation drive, you can Venmo Megan Jo Driver at: @mamamegadrive
